Coffee Lover

My first post

Iced Maple latte with oat milk

Hello! This is my first blog post! I don’t know what came over me today, but I was sitting in a new coffee shop called Café Lapin (pictured) in Kaka’ako, taking pictures of my latte, and I suddenly felt like I wanted to share more about my love for coffee, more than just an Instagram story.

I just love coffee. I love every little thing about it. I love walking into a cafe, ordering, having small talk with the baristas, receiving my drink, putting the lid on and straw in, sitting at a table and staying for hours, people watching, and journaling with the sound of the espresso machine running in the back! I love becoming a regular and befriending the workers. I love trying different drinks on the menu. But, I especially love ordering my iced oat milk mocha anywhere I go! I love sharing the new spots I have found with my friends. I love learning about what beans the cafe uses. I love posting it on my story. I truly love it all. It is where I find a little bit of relief for my anxiety and break from little miss depression.

Hot mochaccino with oat milk

My favorite coffee shop right now is Pai Cafe on Kapahulu. Since I live right across the street from it now, I have been going every morning. The owner, Micah, is so kind and gives off the best aloha bro vibes. He reminds me of my old roommate, Bobby, if he talked more. I walk in and get the warmest welcome and I think that’s one of the biggest reasons why I always go back. Sure it’s right next to my house, but feeling a tiny bit loved and recognized has really made me feel less alone during this time of depression for me. My go to order is of course an Iced oat milk half sweet mocha, but recently I have been switching it up to an Iced oat milk honey cinnamon latte and it’s like reallllly good. The acai bowl add peanut butter is also a go to. And my favorite smoothie is the Mana green. 10/10 would recommend, will cure your hangover! Oh! And, there are regulars there that play chess! (I love chess) I try to watch without seeming like I’m staring at them. The bright colorful walls cheer me up. And the smell of the baked goods coming out of the oven is amaziingggg!! Literally thank you to Micah’s wife, Sun, for being such a talented baker. Pai cafe has been such a peaceful place for me. I am so glad they opened up a couple years back and that they have been successful in their journey.

I have so many coffee stories to tell. I’m excited to share more to whoever finds this or whoever I choose to show this to 😀 That’s all I have for now….. ily bye ❤
